I THINK THE RULES AS THEY STAND AT THE MOMENT ARE NOT FAIR .EXAMPLE -PLAYER X IS FOULED IN THE BOX AND A PENALTY IS GIVEN.THE TEAM THEN SEND THEIR SPECIALIST PENALTY TAKER TO DO THE JOB. ANOTHER INSTANCE IS WHEN A FREE KICK IS AWARDED AND AGAIN THE TEAM SEND THEIR BEST MAN FOR THE JOB. I THINK IT WOULD BE-NOT ONLY FAIR- BUT RIGHT FOR THE OFFENDED PLAYER TO TAKE THE PENALTY/FREE KICK. Er, what happens if the fouled player is injured and/or receiving treatment, surely then that is massive disadvantage?

Arguably the goalkeeper is also a 'specialist' - I believe they do save somewhere in the region of 25-30%. Penalty kickers stand a much higher chance of beating the keeper if they aim for the top of the net although they look like idiots if they hit the crossbar or the ball sails over the top.

My view is that your idea is complete and utter nonsense.
